According to doctor's 1 in 5 teens exhibit slight hearing loss because of the misuse of portable music players like Ipods and the over use of other earphone devices.

Psychedelic to Psychotheraptheric
Drugs that used to be used in the 1960's to alter people's mental status like LSD and magic mushrooms are now being prescribed to treat patient's with depression, complusive disorders and chronic pain. Swiss scientists believe low doses of these narcotics will actually help relieve some of symptoms exhibited by these patients. American doctors have just started to research the effectiveness of these "psychedelic" drugs.

On Obama's recent vacation to the Gulf, he prohibited photographers from using photos of himself shirtless because he felt that the media focused too much on his physique on his last vacation at the end of the summer last year.

Tyra's Boo Boo!
Tyra Banks apolozes for the promo of season 15 of America's Next Top Model for using the film of a 19 yo thin waisted model from Dallas. The model, Ann, literally has the smallest waist sized that anyone on Top Model has ever seen.  Tyra doesn't want anyone to think that she's feeding into the stereotypical image of a pencil-thin model, although I'm pretty sure Ann made it into the top 13 though.

For months Ron Sveden had been feeling ill, constantly coughing and battling lung disease, but in May his health took a turn for the worst when he passed out from a collasped lung. Doctors ran tests for months suspecting cancer or a tumor after discovered an unusual mass in his lung. After a closer look Sveden's doctors discovered the mass was actually a a pea sprout growing in his lung. Doctors suspect that a few months prior to Sveden's failure in health, that he must have swallowed the pea sprout the wrong way and in ended up in his lung closely growing until it finally caused his lung to collaspe.

Four sister deliver four babies in four days. Family memebers say that this was totally unplanned, especially one of the sisters lives in California while the 


other sisters live in Chicago. The same doctor delievered all three of the Chicago births... Amazing

Prevention of Homosexuality?

Scientist on the east coast are linking the cure for congential adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) to the  prevention of homosexuality and bisexuality. CAH is a disorder which causes ambiguous gentialia in girls which gives the vagina an appearance similar to testes which sometimes difficult to determine whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Congenital adrenal hyperplasia remains a relatively rare condition, with about 1 in every 10,000 to 18,000 children born with the disorder, according to the U.S. National Institutes of Health.  Most girls who have had CAH become lesbians or bisexuals and typically live a masucline role lifestyle. Doctors in Maryland are being accused of using drugs to treat women by giving them prenatal doses of drugs to prevent a lesbian or bisexual baby girl.

Singer Wyclef Jean plans on going in the next presidental election in his home country Haiti. He's receiving a lot of scrunity from critics asking why can he offer Haiti in their time of need. Actor Sean Penn personally thinks that this is just publicity stunt because Wyclef has been working on a ablum entitled "The Haitian Experience"

Oprah has invited Rosie O'Donnell to join her new network called the OWN ( Oprah Winfrey Network). Many are excited to see what's in-store for O'Donnell as well as to see if her ratings will be higher than the Views.






















1. Tax Free Weekend 2010!

There's a few states that are participating the the government's efforts to increase revenue by issuing a Tax Free Weekend, or even a whole week in some states. This really only refers to Back-to-School shopping though.


Propostion 8 Ruled Unconstitutional

Homosexuals everywhere are rejocing over the ruling on Wednesday which the Supreme Court deems Propostion 8 unconstitutional and bans it legalizing gay marriage in the state of California.  California joins Connecticut, Iowa, Massaschusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Washington, D.C. that recognizes gay marriage. New York, Maryland, and Rhode Island recognizes gay marriages but do not grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples.


Obama Plans to End Combat in Iraq

On  Monday Obama vowed to stick to his words and end combat in Iraq by the end of August. His plan is to reduce to number of troops to 50,ooo by August 31 he annouced in Atlanta on Monday morning. He also recommitted himself to his promise to extract all troops in Iraq by the end of 2011.

New Developments with Stem Cells

Dr. Thomas Einhorn treated a man who had several unsuccessful surgeries to fix his broken ankle with bone marrow from his pelvic bone and four months later his ankle was completely healed. Doctors are starting to use bone marrow from adults to create stem cells to help patients grow new, healthy tissue. Adult stem cells are now being studied to determined if they can have a positive effect on people with have suffered from heart attacks, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis. Most studies have been really successful for most patients surpassing the test results of embyronic stem cells.

CPR CHANGE UP
The American Heart Association is now pushing a hands-only CPR routine that involve only doing sets of chest-compressions to restart the heart of a potentially dying victim. They are suggesting that a hands-only CPR routine will be more effective in saving the life of a victim. This is a major change from the orginal technique of giving the vicim 15 chest compressions for every 2 breathes, providing both oxygen and blood ciruclationg throughout the body. This new method of CPR provide continous circulation for the body until an emergench medical team can reach the person in need.

Research from Brigham Young University and the University of North Carolina have reveiwed nearly 150 different studies that linked the connection between survival and relationships and have discovered that people who have "adequate" social relationships and interaction have 50% higher likelihood of survival than people with poor relationships. This is comparable with the survival rate of those who smoke and those who don't.




 Twitter Measures Moods







Researchers at Northeastern University in Boston have created a Twitter Mood Map to measure the moods of America. They have discovered that people are the happiest in the morning and the evening. This technology has discovered people are the saddet mid-afternoon then towards the evening their mood gets better. Of course people are the happiest during the weekends, especially Sunday for some reason, and the gloomiest around Thursday night. They have also found that residents of Miami, California and southern states seem to be the happiest.
